Choi is a full service Guesthouse.
We pay particular attention to the comfort of our guests and we can help to
arrange trips, excursions, taxis to town, we have internet and we offer fresh
coffee from Huehuetenango, locally roasted, which is available from 6:00 A.M.
There are snack trays in the room, toilet articles of the very best available
quality, a wide range of music CDs from jazz to classical for the sound system
both on the main terrace and down at the beach. A fridge in the boathouse
filled with sodas, beer and wine, a bath on the beachfront for our guest’s
convenience, chairs on the sun terrace of the bedrooms together with a table
and umbrella, as well as lounge chairs and umbrellas down at the beach.
Kayaks (two singles and a double) with life vests – our kayaks are Ocean
Kayak sit-on-top and perfectly safe.
We serve only the best quality of foodstuffs available, fresh squeezed juice,
croissants, baguettes, English muffins and imported ham. We do not have a
restaurant and do not normally serve meals other than breakfast (which is
included) but frequently we invite our guests to join us for the evening meal.
We ask them to let us know at breakfast so we can plan dinner accordingly.
The wine rack enjoys a full range of wines..., French, Italian, Chilean, South
African and we obtain them direct from the Distributor in Guatemala City.
The same is true of the bar..., we have every liquor imaginable and we operate
on the honor system..., i.e., we have a pad and you simply write down what
you consume. We total at the end.
And we always have fresh flowers in the house, fresh herbs from the garden
and our special hot sauce that we personally make from our own plants. We
also make beautiful belts that are locally handcrafted and many of our guests
buy them to take home as gifts.
We have a policy of blocking the entire house once we rent out one upstairs
bedroom. That provides us with the opportunity to focus on our guests and
provide them with complete privacy. Our rates run from $75 to $150 per night
plus taxes.
